American Express Foundation President to Participate in Friday Fundraising Panel

Mr. Timothy J. McClimon, President of the American Express Foundation and Vice President for Philanthropy, American Express Company, will join three other panelists – Michael Killoren, Director, Local Arts Agencies, and Challenge America Fast Track Program for National Endowment for the Arts; Christopher Reich, Senior Advisor, Office of Museum Services, Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS); and Jeff Hardwick, Senior Program Officer, Division of Public Programs, National Endowment for the Humanities – to discuss public and private funding opportunities (and challenges) for cultural heritage tourism.

Mr. McClimon directs all of the American Express Company’s global philanthropy and employee engagement programs. Prior to joining American Express, he served as Executive Director of Second Stage Theatre, where he led one of the largest nonprofit theaters in New York City. He also served as the Executive Director of the AT&T Foundation, where he directed AT&T’s global philanthropy and corporate citizenship programs. Mr. McClimon joined AT&T from the New York law firm of Webster and Sheffield where he served as a lawyer specializing in nonprofit corporate law. Prior to that, he managed the Inter-Arts Program at the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC. Mr. McClimon serves as a Director of Americans for the Arts, Inc. He serves as Member of Advisory Committee of The Advertising Council, Inc.
